Maldives have always been in my top travel list. Being a sea lover I have long dream of witnessing the wonders of turquish blue water, powdery white sand beaches and that dreamy water vilas you see in postcards. But one thing I must say—reaching this paradise doesn’t come cheap. It’s definitely not a budget trip. Still, when I stood before some of the world’s most breathtaking beaches, every dollar spent felt worth it.

Here, I’m sharing my journey through this island paradise.
Day 1 – Arrival at Maafushi Island
After landing in Malé, I took a pre-booked speedboat directly to Maafushi Island, a one-hour ride across the sparkling blue sea. Unlike some other islands, Maafushi doesn’t have water villas, but the charm of this place lies in its simplicity. The view from my balcony and a swim in the turquoise waters were enough to take my entire day.
